EUROGATE Intermodal operates to Hungary with the boxXpress
Bremen, 11 May 2006 +++ On 15 May the container block train boxXpress.hu starts operating a service linking the North Sea with Budapest. Using this strong service EUROGATE now offers up to eight departures weekly from the German seaports Bremerhaven and Hamburg to Hungary.
The container block trains travel twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, from Bremerhaven and Hamburg direct to Budapest. On the southbound route via Austria the transit time is approximately 22 hours. Northbound trains stop off at Munich/Riem, where the trains to Bremerhaven and Hamburg are loaded with additional containers. boxXpress.hu uses integrated traction with the aid of modern Siemens disposition engines and own wagons offering a capacity of 90 TEU in each direction.
This new service enables EUROGATE Intermodal to offer the company’s renowned quality and dependable service for the connections with the Hungarian capital. In line with market requirements, the service ideally combines the import demand in Budapest with the need to export in southern Germany.
